Pack your shoebox...
Label the box...
Volunteer!
All of the boxes are unpacked from cartons, inspected, taped, resorted by age and gender, labeled, and distributed. From the processing centers, they will travel by plane, camel, jeep, bike, canoe, or horse through rivers and across mountains to rural villages, deep jungles, and crowded city orphanages even in countries hostile to the gospel bringing the true gift of God' love in a simple box.
Anyone over 13 can volunteer in the warehouse during the weeks of processing. An estimated 11 million shoeboxes will go out to children worldwide this year alone. This is Irina from Russia. When she was 10 she received a shoebox while living in her orphanage. She said the gifts were especially meaningful to her because in an orphanage all the toys had to stay in the common areas and the children did not have any things to call their own. All the kids who get boxes receive the gospel in their own language and are invited to participate in a 12 week discipleship class. Even while we are sorting boxes, they stop periodically for a break to pray for the kids. |
On the back of the pictures, volunteers have written prayers for the children
that will sent back to the ministries there on the field.
